Welcome to RAWSCOPESTUDIOS
From a Berlin Courtyard to the Digital World – Music Production with History and Vision.
Welcome to the official website of rawscopestudios. We are more than just a label or a studio; we are a musical journey that began in 1998 and is heard worldwide today. Our roots lie in analog craftsmanship, while our present is the global digital market.
Our History: Berlin, 1998
It all began in a small backyard courtyard in the pulsating district of Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. Founded at a time when music production was still pioneering work, Rawscopestudios was born. Without high-end computers, but with boundless passion, the first tracks were created here.
Our setup was humble but effective – the sound pure and direct:
An analog four-channel mixing console as the centerpiece.
The legendary Groovebox MC303 for the rhythm.
A Kawai Synthesizer for the melodies.
A used condenser microphone for the vocals.
A 33MHz PC that formed the technical backbone.
In this intimate setting, we produced the distinctive sound for Frederic Kollmer, The Lightning Voices, DJ Bohne, and The Watchdogs.
Did you know? Before the turn of the millennium, CD burners were still a luxury item. Our first runs (sometimes only 10 copies!) were laboriously mastered on DAT and subsequently pressed. The covers came from the print shop and were cut to the correct format by us—entirely by hand. Until the year 2000, limited editions of up to 200 copies were created this way—each one unique.
Rawscopestudios Today: Digital in Mittenwald
Times have changed, and so have we. Today, rawscopestudios has found its new home in picturesque Mittenwald.
The 33MHz computer and the analog mixing console have given way to modern, purely digital workflows. What remains is the standard of quality and the love for music. Today, our focus lies on the worldwide marketing and monetization of digital content.
Current Focus:
Our main attention is currently on the rebranding of Leto Love as Frederic Kollmer, whose music we are making accessible to a global audience via the internet.
film
Since its founding days, rawscopestudios has also intermittently produced videos and short films across various genres. Starting in 2011, the sale of film material became the primary source of income for Rawscopestudios and remained so until the move from Berlin to Bavaria in 2012.
family
Rawscopestudios is now primarily a creative hub, a melting pot of creativity for audio and video production. It serves as a home for artists, companions, friends, and colleagues who have become a family over the decades.
